silent auction goods

My husband and I attended a dinner this evening benefiting a friend's non-profit group. There was a silent auction, and while my husband didn't win the Highland Brewing package (it involved a tour of the brewery for 8 people - and beer), I was the only high bidder on this piece of pottery.

Major score for $30.

first snow

Today we had our first snow of the season.

It wasn't much, but then again, I'm not ready for a lot of snow.

the leaves are back

Even though the yard was raked on Sunday, the leaves have returned.

Biltmore Christmas tree

We visited the Biltmore Estate today, and saw the large Christmas tree brought into the house. It's a big deal - beginning with the tree coming in on a horse-drawn carriage.

This van was spotted in downtown Asheville, honking and encouraging people to vote today.

I had already voted, but I thought it was cute. Much more encouraging than the ads on tv.

This is one of the roses I came home with on Saturday, following the Power of Pink relay. A local florist donated them to the runners.
