The husband returned from a week-long training today and we met up with friends at Papa's & Beer. While it was technically a party for one of our friends who moved away, and was in town for the weekend, we also celebrated my husband's birthday.

This is growing up my fence - it's actually inside the fence, but I shot the photo from the street.

It could be a winter squash. Or it could be a melon of some sort. I have no idea.

And, yes, I'm a little obsessed with our garden this year.

I make blankets for my friends who are having babies. This baby blanket may have to go to Chloe.

This is a part of the trumpet flower. I think that it may hold seeds inside? No clue, really. I'll keep watching it, in hopes of finding out.

(The plant did re-seed itself this summer so now I have two ginormous plants in our front flower bed. I need to remember this next year, so I can transplant at least one to another part of the yard.)

This is another shot of the ever-blooming trumpet flower. (My mom calls it an angel trumpet flower. I'm sure it has other names.) Note the blooms on the ground. They bloom once, then fall off.

Bored with television

Chloe takes up an entire couch cushion when she watches TV.

We finally had a decent rain this evening. When it went away, we were left with a sky that looked a little like cotton candy.

I wasn't able to get the full pink effect, as I wasted a few minutes searching for my camera.

We stopped to see the lighthouse on Tybee Island this morning before driving to Florida. The lighthouse is closed on Tuesdays, but we managed to get fairly close for pictures (and that was free!)

Chloe is not happy. We're leaving her for a few days. I left my suitcase open (while packing) and she decided it was a good place to sleep.

I planted these bulbs last year. I totally forgot about them until this morning when I went out front door (I usually go out the side door) and saw this gladiola. The others haven't bloomed yet.

daisies...and a cat

These daisies were part of an arrangement we brought home from a funeral on Wednesday (my husband's grandmother's funeral.) I love daisies, and I pulled them apart from the plant, so I could keep them alive longer.


I also love that Chloe is in the background. :)

a new(er) crochet project

I started making this blanket a couple of months ago, when I suspected my friend was going to have a baby girl.

And today she found out that she is having a girl in November.

I'm a little psychic like that. :)
