I've been admiring this tree for a couple of weeks, and wondering when it would change colors. I don't know where I can park (easily) and get a shot of it, so when I saw there was nobody behind me during my lunch break, I slowed down, grabbed my camera, and shot this photo out the passenger side window.

birthday dinner in New York

Thursday was my birthday, and I spent six hours in airports and/or on airplanes on my way to upstate New York.

I don't remember the last birthday I saw my New York family members, especially my grandmother. But here we are!

I spent part of the day at Mars Hill College for homecoming festivities, and thought it would be fun to shoot my reflection off of someone's tuba.

It's not often that I make it into my own photos :) My husband is there too - and he told the tuba player what I was up to. It took some of the fun out of it.
