snowy home
A slightly fuzzy photo of me and the husband in front of our snowy house this weekend. (I had my mom take the photo - I feel it's important to document big events such as the snow!)

for the love of snow and Oliver
This is Oliver. He was barking at me as I was walking down the driveway yesterday. He wanted to go play (and we did.) Oliver LOVES the snow...and we got at least 9 inches of it since yesterday! We'll be playing again once I can dig out our gate so he can get in the yard!

This is what I see when I open our living room curtains in the morning. I actually went outside to capture it today!

a tough week
From the looks of this photo, Chloe's had a tough week. Today, once I finally got home from work (and walked the dogs, ate dinner, etc.) we crashed on the couch and watched "The Real World." I don't know if Chloe couldn't believe we were watching such trash on television, or if she was just tired.

snowflakes
It snowed last night. Just barely, but I managed to catch it as it was falling.
Not the greatest of photos, but I don't think it's been my worst picture either. :)

....the after
I drove by this lamp post this morning and it looked like the photo I took on Thursday.
I'm pleased to tell you that the city of Asheville took their holiday decor down today. Exactly one month after Christmas. Good job, guys.

hot chocolate 10k
I ran a race this morning, and while I didn't take this picture, I needed to document it.
Me, after the race:
And one of my work photographers shot this:

kitty paws
Chloe slept on my legs last night, with her paws on my hand. I love her little paws, and she doesn't always let us play with them. Luckily I had a camera nearby to capture the moment. (Ignore the zebra-print Snuggie she was laying on....)

still looks like Christmas
Several weeks have gone by since Christmas, and my city is still decorated:
I was going to talk about how it shouldn't take that long to take down decorations, or how they missed their warm spell to take them down comfortably (it's now raining and it's getting cold after a streak of above-50 degree temps) but then I realized just how busy I am. I'm lucky I took our decorations down on January 1, and the next couple of weeks are crazy for me.
So I'll give the city of Asheville a break. Maybe we can take the wreaths down by Valentine's Day? We'll wait and see.

a running sky
This was the sky as I was running on my lunch break...kind of sunny, kind of cloudy. It eventually rained, but for a little while it was very pretty.

comfortable
I found Chloe sleeping in our guest room on random blankets that need to be put away - and propped up on a pillow. Whatever makes her comfortable....

it's a mess in there
Today I painted our bedroom (we also bought a new bed that we'll pick up next week.) This is the current state of our room:
We might be sleeping in the guest room or the living room tonight. (The color used to be beige, and now it's a very light sage color.)

saying goodbye
Jordan is a co-worker of mine who for the past two years has worked in our Raleigh bureau. Friday night we had a going away get together for him at a local pizza place/brewery. Jordan's heading to Tacoma, Washington today to begin his new job as state capitol reporter for another newspaper. Asheville (and North Carolina, really) will miss him!

puppy love
This is Oliver. We adopted him during the summer of 1996. He was an only dog for many years, until we adopted Sophie. They live with my mom (three houses away from me) and visit often. When Oliver is at home, he does not get to sleep on my mom's bed. When he is at my house, he can have the entire bed to himself, if he chooses.

playful kitty
This is what we deal with almost every evening - Chloe and her fish. I'm working on the settings with my camera to be able to shoot more movement, so sorry for the blurry aspects.

aloha!
From the website of our hotel in Hawaii! I'm heading there in March with my mom to visit my brother - it's official as of last night when the tickets were purchased!

a building shot
the Indigo Hotel is what I see when I walk to my office every day. I used to see a lot more sky before it moved in.

work on the go
my work space in the hospital waiting room.
Laptop - check.
(work) cell phone - check.
iPod - check.
diet Pepsi (and an extra in my bag) - check.
Ready to work from the waiting area now! My grandma is having surgery this morning. Think lots of good thoughts for her, please.

sweet, sweet dogs
You get three photos today...
We took a very cold walk on Sunday afternoon.
How could you ever get upset with this face?
And old Squinty Eyes...I love how Oliver's ears flap when he walks.

cat in a box
Finally, a picture in which you can see her eyes and she doesn't look possessed. Chloe, in her new favorite sleeping spot. A random box. I don't know why we spent money on cat beds....

welcome....
Welcome to my photo a day blog. I've decided to take part in the Project 365. We'll have to see how this goes, and if I have what it takes to post one a day!
