A sharp contrast to what we saw on Saturday.

spring = ice cream
(I'm cheating a little, since this photo was taken last night, but I really wanted to share it.)
The beginning of Spring means the opening of Tastee Freez, the ice cream place that I've lived near for many, many years. My mom used to take my brother and I on occasion.
So I took my husband last night. He got the Snickers Sundae. It's definitely not healthy.

another sign of spring
Daffodils in our front flower bed! How I missed these since they started growing this year, I don't know, but I'm SO glad I saw them yesterday and thought to photograph them.

How many projects?
I'm playing a game. It's called "how many projects can I make with the same two yards of fabric?" So far, I've made a laptop cover and an iPod case and now......
A sleep mask:
I needed one for my trip next week. 18 hours traveling to Hawaii, 12 of which will be on planes. I so needed this. It may look tacky (conflicting patterns!) but I used what I had.

friendship bread
I made Amish friendship bread this morning. I was actually on day 11 of 10 and needed to do so. (It's currently being eaten up by co-workers, which I'm grateful for. It's not the healthiest bread in the world.)

nightstand = new perch
Chloe thinks this is a fun place to play - the nightstand next to our bed.
She especially likes to knock my cell phone off. (Note that she's checking it out since I had just plugged it in.)
Bad kitty.

focus much?
A rainy afternoon/evening/night. Lots of rain. This was taken on my walk to the parking lot. The sidewalk was in focus, but everything else? No such luck.

quiet sidewalk
I shot this photo for You Capture (on my regular blog) and really liked the angle.
It was taken at the Grove Arcade, after 5 p.m. on a Wednesday evening.

When you order a Junior Frosty at Wendy's, you really get a Junior-sized Frosty.

tennis
Today I "played" tennis for the first time in well over 5 years. It's probably more like nine years since I played. Today was more of scrambling for the ball.

self-portrait with Oliver
Poor Oliver. I forced him into this self-portrait yesterday. He's still cute, even if he doesn't want to look at the camera.

Grove Arcade
This building is literally steps away from my office building. The Grove Arcade in Asheville. I love the Grove Arcade. I shot this when I had to go by the office this afternoon - and I love the blue, blue, blue sky!
The Grove Arcade used to be a public market (until WWII). I believe the government used the building until several years ago when it was renovated and reopened in 2002. I may try to get some inside shots at some point, because it really is beautiful. (It houses local businesses and restaurants and shops now.)

a funny face
This is actually a couple of days old, but I loved the funny face I caught on Oliver a few days ago.
Oliver isn't feeling too great - his age is really showing (today, at least.) I'm hoping the bad days pass and he can enjoy our warmer weather this weekend!

snow day number whatever
Even though it's beyond annoying now, the snow can be really pretty.
(We've had so much snow that all of our schools are headed to school this Saturday and are running out of Saturdays to use for snow days. It's getting a little old.)

ready for spring
I'm ready for spring, as can be seen through my pots and garden tools on the porch. The snow won't let up, though. We could see up to 7 inches today and another 2 inches of snow overnight.
*sigh* My gardening will have to wait.

handmade
I finished sewing two dog beds over the weekend - my first experience with sewing zippers.
I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. (You can read more about them on my regular blog.)
